Christopher B. Epps

Christopher B. Epps is the commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. His extensive career with MDOC includes serving as chief of staff, deputy commissioner of institutions, and deputy commissioner of community corrections, among several other positions. He also serves on the board of Mississippi Prison Industries, a nonprofit corporation that provides work opportunities to inmates. He received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Mississippi Valley State University and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Liberty University (Lynchburg, Virginia).
